About Us

We are a user group local to the Lafayette, LA area, dedicated to SQL Server and Business Intelligence. We are affiliated with the world-wide group PASS (Professional Association for SQL Server). Our goal is to create a place for people to learn new information, ask questions, and network with other SQL server professionals.

Our group has regular monthly meetings which are free and open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Code of Conduct

Thank you for being part of our community. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation. By becoming a member of the Acadiana SQL user group, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines.

The primary mission of the Acadiana SQL user group is to promote collaboration, facilitate learning, asking questions, and networking for people dedicated to SQL Server and BI. In addition, Acadiana SQL will strive to assist in satisfying individual member's desire for self-improvement while furthering their opportunity for community service in a framework of high ethical standards. Thus, all programs, activities, publications, speeches, and conduct of Acadiana SQL and its individual members shall be carried out in a highly ethical manner, focusing on a standard of excellence which will reflect credit to the organization.

General Conduct and Communication

Each member shall be considerate of how their actions or contributions affect colleagues, Acadiana SQL, and the community as a whole.

Each member shall treat one another and members of the community with respect. While not everyone will always agree, disagreement is no excuse for poor behavior or poor manners.

While differences of opinions and disagreements, both political and technical, will arise, each member shall strive to resolve them constructively. Disagreement, debate and constructive criticism is often how progress is made and are a necessary part of a team environment. Debate should never include reference to someone's nationality, gender, religion or other personal characteristics.

Chain of Communication

If a member believes he or she has been harassed, they should promptly report the facts of the incident(s) and the names of the individuals involved to the following officers, depending on whether the alleged offender is:

  1. 1) A MEMBER OF ACADIANA SQL WHO HOLDS NO OFFICE: TO the Acadiana SQL President initially and, if the member is not satisfied with the substance or timeliness of the Acadiana SQL President's response, to any other member of MWUG Board of directors. The MWUG Officer receiving the report must conduct a confidential investigation of the allegation and report the outcome to MWUG Board of directors, which must take or commence whatever action may be appropriate to resolve the matter
  2. 2) AN ACADIANA SQL Officer: To the Acadiana SQL President initially if the President is not implicated. If the President is implicated or if the member is not satisfied with the substance or timeliness of the Acadiana SQL President's response, to any other member of Acadiana SQL Executive Board. Acadiana SQL Officer receiving the report must conduct a confidential investigation of the allegation and report the Outcome to Acadiana SQL Executive Board, which must take or commence whatever action may be appropriate to resolve the matter.
  3. In each case, Acadiana SQL must take appropriate action to resolve the matter and to minimize the likelihood of a reoccurrence, if possible.

    Since Acadiana SQL is an independent organization, there is no higher organization where appeals can be made. If the initial decision concerning a matter is not satisfactory, the entire Executive Board will meet to make a decision. Decisions based on a 2/3-majority decision by the Executive Board shall be deemed final.

    We trust that all members will continue to act in a responsible and professional manner to maintain a positive environment supporting every person's desire for self-improvement within Acadiana SQL.
